TrustMark is the government scheme to assist consumers to find a reputable contractor.

NICEIC is one of a limited number of scheme providers authorised to award TrustMark to electrical contractors.

TrustMark is a Scheme supported by the Government, the building industry and consumer groups to help consumers and specifiers find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople to make improvements and repairs to domestic properties.

If a firm displays the TrustMark logo you can be assured that it has been checked against a set of standards set by the Government by a TrustMark approved body.

The TrustMark Scheme recognises the difficulty consumers face in selecting reputable construction industry companies to undertake work in their homes.

The concept is to promote an identification mark which will become widely recognised by consumers as a mark of integrity, and allows them to avoid rogue traders and have confidence in the standard of work undertaken.

Cutting corners can have dangerous consequences, so in the interest of safety homeowners should use a professional and fully qualified electrician to carry out electrical work in their home, such as one registered with NICEIC.

NICEIC was set up in the 1950s and is the leading independent voluntary electrical regulatory body assessing the competence of UK electricians. NICEIC maintains a register of around 20,000 Approved Contractors and Domestic Installers.

To enroll with NICEIC all electricians, and anyone they employ, must comply with national safety standards and codes of practice. They are regularly inspected, which means NICEIC is a symbol you can trust, and is only displayed by electricians offering a dependable service.
